The philosophy of the Trust is to
respond with spontaneous compassion to appeals from those in need, and our
focus has been on applying this philosophy to sustainable development
projects in India, particularly those that are working in rural areas
where income is low and access to quality health and educational
facilities is very difficult.
The unique aspect of our small
Trust is that there is a direct link between our office in London and all
the projects which we support in India. The manager of the Trust visits
India three times a year, to monitor existing projects, visit new
potential partners and set up our own projects in rural areas which are
unable to access good educational and health facilities. As a result we
are able to inform donors exactly where their funds are being directed and
how they are being utilized. Donors can also specify which particular
project they would like to support and we are happy to arrange visits for
them so that they can see the work for themselves.
The majority of our funding and
all of our administration costs are obtained from the interest on the
corpus provided by the Waney family. However, due to our quickly expanding
projects coupled with the weak market, we are looking for partners to help
us with our work.
